Shirlee Opp & Chris at 10 months

Chris first began painting murals on the 7 Stories @ 25’w x 70’h (south side) and 10 Stories @ 25’w x 100’h (north side) at Margaritaville Resort Casino in Bossier City, Louisiana in 2013. The enormous task was completed with the help of a dedicated team and the impact of the enormous murals could be seen for miles.

Then in 2021, it was time to refresh the murals and once again Chris was called to the task. When he had finished, with some help from friends in the community (check out the videos and photos for sneakpeeks at who joined Chris in the sky), Chris was able to make significant contributions to organizations that he cares deeply about.

The latest addition in 2022 was a selfie-taking area at the front entrance.

Check out the BEFORE section from 2013 and then the AFTER section from 2021. Make sure to scroll all the way to the Giving Section to meet some of our community heroes. There is no creative task too big or too small for Chris Opp. “The Sky’s the Limit!”

BEFORE … It all began in 2013.

AFTER … 2021

Check out Chris in this video with his friend Pastor Justin Haigler of the Simple Church. It’s not as easy as Chris makes it look.

When all the painting was finished, it was time to give back to the community!

The Artistic Shark was at it again. Three groups that are close to his heart. Chris donated $500 to the American Cancer Society and the Bossier Arts Council. Margaritaville donated $500 to the Bossier Fire Dept. (photos by Kelsey Slagle)

In 2022, the General Manager, Barry, asked me back again. This time he wanted Chris to create a “selfie” area for photo opportunities in their front entrance that would bring color and a lot of photos of their customers to share with friends and post on social media. Chris started with arches made of stucco, then added foam 2D/3D cutouts with silk plants and a mangrove tree completed by his co-hort Steve. Chris had fun on this project especially since it came on the heels of his recent trip to the Florida Keys where he saw a lot of mangrove trees, the only trees that grow in salt water!
